This project was an interesting one.

I worked collectively with a good friend Eliot Wright. He had been searching for some time to find an old frame to fit.
Randomly one afternoon I came across this bicycle and quickly picked it up.  Here is the original frame:

Next, myself and Eliot stripped the bicycle down, and he took the frame for sanding/ priming and paint.

And finally, once I got all the parts the final build took shape. There were a few minor hitches that involved the dremel tool and also reworking the rear wheel, but all in all it went well.

Putting the final touches on, which include stitched leathery bar-tape really set it off.

Huge thanks to Eliot for the excellent paint job and help with the build!

This bicycle is taking quite a long time, as it was in pretty rough shape. HOWEVER, it is slowly progressing and it is looking great (if I can say so myself).

2x Primer coat, 3x coats of White, 1x coat of Orange paint. The lines were taped off where I wanted them, and I will be applying the clearcoat relatively soon.

New project in the works, Mum’s 10-Speed Restoration. It’s an old beater of a 10-speed which I have stripped down.

It’s going to need a lot of work and some new paint. I’m also updating to better components but it will still have the retro-feel.

Here are a few photos of what I’m working with and then a sketch of the prototype:

Finally finished Jeff’s Raleigh Restoration + Fixed Gear conversion.

This was truly a joy to build up, and it was seriously one of the most hassle-free builds I have ever had the chance to build.

Jeff was out riding around yesterday evening on it to get a feel for it before I add the brakes, and it really rides like a dream!

The final details were painted by hand with black paint around the headtube. This was to get extremely clean lines between the white and blue.

It was topped of with 2 final coats of gloss clear coat to get a nice ‘wet’ look.

I’ll hopefully build this baby up tomorrow!

The past few weeks I have been working on a restoration of an old beaten and severely damaged Raleigh from Nottingham, England.

These were some really awesome bicycles, and so I was happy to bring this one back.

A mate of mine, Jeff Lush, has been looking for a fixed wheel for some time now, and this was the perfect fit. I have all of the details worked out, and even a nice paint scheme. However, I’ll save those details for later.

Here is the project thus far (cell phone photos as a preview):
